11 Remanded After CCTV Probe Into Puranapool Chilla Communal Disturbance

Kamatipura police arrested 11 identified individuals on January 19 in connection with unlawful assembly and property damage at Puranapool Chilla.
Investigators said CCTV footage and other technical evidence led to the suspects’ identification following the January 15 temple vandalism allegation.
A person allegedly entered the Puranapool Darwaza Mysamma Temple late on January 15 and partially damaged a banner and a Plaster of Paris idol.
All arrested individuals were produced before a local court and remanded to judicial custody, while additional accused remain at large.
On instructions from Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar, patrolling was intensified, flag marches were held in Kamatipura and Bahadurpura, and pickets were deployed to reassure residents.
