Overview
- The three-day 10th Faiz Festival ended on February 15 at the Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) with strong public participation reported.
- The final day began at 10:30 am in Hall 1 with a dance performance by Lahore Grammar School students.
- A packed program of simultaneous sessions and book launches featured Harris Khalique, Salima Hashmi, Samina Rehman, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Sohail Warraich, Wajahat Masood and other noted voices.
- Panels ranged from “Faiz and the Cultural Policy of Pakistan” to book launches for “Secrets: Stories of Psychiatry from America and Pakistan” and “Who Knows the Bound of Desire,” with additional discussions comparing Faiz with Pablo Neruda, Nazim Hikmet and Mahmoud Darwish.
- Lahore Arts Council Executive Director Muhammad Nawaz Gondal said the participation and depth of discussion reaffirmed the continuing relevance of Faiz’s vision of hope, justice and human dignity.
